A Feast of the Damned is a 60-second horror-comedy short created for Full Sail University’s Project and Portfolio III: Digital Cinematography. The assignment provided four prompts, and I chose Prompt #2: “It is a very nice dinner.” The required setup involved a guest arriving at a home, entering for a candlelit dinner, sharing an awkward meal, and leaving afterward.
I approached the prompt by leaning into atmosphere, absurdity, and genre contrast. What begins as a polite dinner scenario becomes something stranger and more sinister, using performance, visual tone, pacing, and dark humor to push the scene beyond a simple class exercise. The short later received recognition through the Absurd Film Festival, with a submission date of October 4, 2025, notification date of April 5, 2026, and event date of April 18, 2026.
